A Plump & Perky Turkey for our Muffin Tins!

I have been thinking about our Thanksgiving/Turkey themed muffin tins for a while and I was SO excited when I found these fun "tins" to put them in last week!

They are actually ceramic, but my kids are older so I thought they would be fine. Plus they were only $2.50! So I couldn't say NO;)

We just read the book a "A Plump & Perky Turkey" for our Thanksgiving unit, and it inspired me!

This book is way cute, so we borrowed it's title for our theme this week.

So here is my version of "Pete" (that is the name of the turkey in the book), he is beside some applesauce garnished with a cut apple "leave"

Then I made some cute chocolate acorns (thanks Pintrest!) and filled another cup with
"Cornucopia Trail Mix" (this was simply Bugles & Runts)

I also included a Juice Box and dried cranberries & cherries, but as Gideyon put it "there is nothing fun about the fruit, Mom!" :/

Muffin Tin Monday- The Pumpkin Version:)

So last Monday was "candy day", and we celebrated very low key by taking our kiddos to Chuck E Cheese. I did however do a fun Pumpkin themed Muffin Tin. The kids LOVED it, and I may never be able to do an unthemed one again:/
Here is what it looked like:

Here is what was in them: From left top to bottom right
Clementine with little face drawn on sitting on a pile of pumpkin seeds, Orange Izze,
Harvest Orange Tomato Soup, Carrot Coins, Grilled Cheese Pumpkin shaped Croutons,
Pumpkin Frosted Sugar Cookie, with tiny packet of Pop Rocks.
They thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, however the grilled cheese croutons were the biggest hit.

3)Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte! I ♥ these. I have actually only had 3 this season, due to the fact that our Starbucks isn't close and never on my way anywhere:( Still tops my fall faves list!

4)Cookie baking and decorating. SO I see all these beautiful cookie on Pintrest and drool. Of course I think "I can do that". Turns out I CAN'T do this! I am determined to master this, so stay tuned for results...
flooding with royal icing
5)Burlap! I have always loved burlap, but lately I am OBSESSED with it! I have decided to do my new Christmas decor all in burlap and cream, with brown accents. So if you spot anything I need to buy or craft let me know:)

Teach Me Thursday-Pumpkin Lapbook

So we have been dabbling with Lapbooks this year and I am LOVING it! They are fun for me & the kids, plus they really reinforce what ever topic we are covering. I am sharing our pumpkin lapbook and the links I used for most of the printables. I wasn't able to locate all of them again, so next time I will bookmark them better! Speaking of bookmarking, you may want to book mark my post for next year since most of you have already covered pumpkins:/ This is the Cover:

Here are the contents:

These are the links for the items in the lapbook:
The 2 things NOT listed with a link are the "What words can you make from PUMPKIN PATCH" book & the pumpkin "pie" spice wheel. You could easily duplicate these though without a printable. I used an awesome printable from the website Lulu and the Pumpkin Lapbook by Lilliput Station. But it is telling me now that I don't have access to it, grr;( So if you want to make a pumpkin spice wheel. Simply cut a circle of orange paper and a slightly bigger wheel of brown. Quarter the brown "pie" and glue nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger onto the quarters. Cut a quarter out of the orange wheel and connect to the brown wheel with a brad. You can also make the Pumpkin Patch word book very simply by printing the words "Pumpkin Patch" at the top of you paper, separate into 3 columns by labeling them 2 letter, 3 letter & 4 letter (as in words you can make).
Hope this helps somebody! I was amazed at the amount of stuff I found on the web for ours, so be sure to "shop" around;)
