Rain Request

Hello All 3 of my faithful readers:) I don't normally do unusual things on my blog, in fact I don't usually even blog! However we have received three straight days of rain including today and my heart is full over it. I simply love the rain, it doesn't make me sullen, nor do I grouch when I have to go out it in. I just revel in the fact that God sent it to me. So that is where my unusual request comes in. I have been looking out my window this morning wishing I knew some verses that pertained to rain so I could pray them. Would you all be willing to look up one verse about rain and send it in your comment so I can refer to them? Thanks I would really appreciate it! I look forward to what you all come up with.

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud," Isaiah 55:10a

For he draweth up the drops of water, Which distil in rain from his vapor. Job 36:27

Then he prayed for rain, and down it poured. The grass turned green, and the crops began to grow again. James 5:18

These are a variety of translations because I liked how some read better than others. I'm glad you're enjoying your rain, and thanks for giving me a little 'homework' - I enjoyed finding verses about the beauty of the rain!

"When He thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from His storehouses."
Jeremiah 10:13

" Ask the LORD for rain in the springtime;it is the LORD who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men,and plants of the field to everyone."
Zechariah 10:1

"He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
Matthew 5:45(b)

The first two are NIV and the last is NKJV. I must confess, I just entered the word "rain" into the search on www.biblegateway.com and it gave me 107 results. I love looking up specific words. The last verse I had memorized when I was younger-it is one of my favorites. Isn't God's Word so perfect and useful for all times and all things?

I love the rain, too. Your Dad likes it as well. We have had a very rain past few days. I wish I could sleep late, but it doesn't happen around these parts.

I found this interesting verse about rain in Deuteronomy 28:12 "The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

The paraphrase of the verse is, "He will open to you His wonderful treasury of rain in the heavens to give you fine crops every season. He will bless everything you do; and you shall lend to many nations, but shall not borrow from them."

Psalm 72:6 "He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, Like showers that water the earth."

The above verse is said to be referencing The Messiah, an interesting verse to study.

Enjoy the rain!
