Muffin Tin Monday: Earth Day Version

I have actually done a few muffin tins here and there since Gwen has been born. But they either weren't picture/post worthy or I just didn't have the energy to document them:/ I was pretty pleased with today's though and wanted to share. 

WARNING: If you have issues with food dye (especially blue) this is not the post for you!;)

I got my inspiration for today's tin from these adorable cupcakes I had seen on Pinterest. I was super brave and even let the kiddos help me assemble & bake these! They turned out really well, and were pretty tasty without icing. However the kids insisted that some of them have "atmosphere" or "clouds", AKA as frosting;)

I rounded out the rest of the tin with the following: Reusable cup with Blue Kool-aid, A Turkey Bagel Sandwich with a homemade earth pick, an all natural blueberry & yogurt smoothie pouch, some sliced kiwi with frozen blueberries (my kids prefer them that way!), our little earth cupcakes, and a handful of steamed edamame pods. I offered the kids veggie straws instead of the edamame, but they are addicted to the popping of the soybeans:) 

Gideyon is always photo bombing my tins!;) The cupcakes look miniature because I serve my guys food in jumbo muffin tins. They are 9 & 10, so a regular muffin portion of most things doesn't cut it anymore.

Muffin Tin Monday- Football Fun

I had NO inspiration for today's muffin tin:P Luckily for me Gilly requested Football Brownies in them, so I went that. So this poor little muffin tin is lacking the usual pizazz.

I served them a football shaped sandwich, juice box, pretzel sticks with a cheese round, cinnamon applesauce, craisins & almonds, and the requested football brownie:) Always cracks me up that the ones I consider Ho-hum are some of their favorites!

Muffin Tin Monday- Snow Much Fun!

I have had this muffin tin in my head since before Christmas! But I kept hoping that maybe we would get a few flakes to along with it. End of January and in the 70's so I decided I better go ahead and do it before Easter:P

Nothing to complicated about this one, just fun to look at!

Each of their tins had snowman head donuts (mini donuts with a sixlet nose and mini chocolate chip eyes), glass of milk, PBJ Snowman Head Sandwich (with raisin eyes and a mini carrot nose), blueberries with a snowflake pick, vanilla yogurt with snowflake sprinkles, and some extra snowman noses (carrots). Gillyan thought today's lunch was SO cute! Gideyon couldn't figure out the theme, go figure he is such a guy:/ Linking up to Muffin Tin Mom

Muffin Tin Monday-Appetizer Tray

Today's muffin tin should actually be called "Cleaning out the fridge Cups" but I thought Appetizer Tray made it sound more appealing;) Here is what I ended up putting in my kiddos tins:

They have Herbed Turkey Pinwheels, an Orange Izze, a tiny cheeseball with mini Triscuits, some Marcona Almonds, a baby slice of Red Velvet Cheesecake (Leftover from my Bday) and some Grapes. Pretty sure I could have put liver in the tins today and they would have ate it just so they could have the dessert!:) So not one of my prettier, or more creative tins but tasty nonetheless!

Muffin Tin Monday-Breakfast Bites

I was actually excited to do a more "traditional" muffin tin after all the Christmas tins. So this weeks tin was simple but cute. I went for a "mini" breakfast theme. I have a slight obsession with all things tiny/small/miniature:/
The kids tins looked like this:

They contained from top left to bottom right: Mini Pancakes, container of syrup, Chocolate Milk, small thing of yogurt, mandarin oranges, and baby sausage links. The utensils were a tiny spoon & pick meant for appetizers. The kids gobbled these down, and needless to say I had to refill more than one cup;) Linking to Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday- Sweet & Swirly Oh...and my "homemade" Poptarts:P

Today's muffin tin was one of my more time consuming ventures, however it still only took about 10 mins start to finish. And the kids were ecstatic with the results, and that is the real goal:)
The tins today were based on Peppermints & Candy Canes:

 The tins contain a Juice Pouch, Turkey Tortilla Pinwheels, Jello Cup, Candy Cane shaped Apples, Babybel cheese with a CandyCane Cutout, and Vanilla Yogurt with a red swirl with a big fat Peppermint Marshmallow!

I dyed the cream cheese in the pinwheels, and used a small cookie cutter on the apples & cheese. Hooking this Tin up at Muffin Tin Mom

I also attempted homemade Poptarts this morning. I am going to be honest and say they were rather dissapointing. If you LOVE the flavor of pie crust all by itself these are the pastry for you! However I thought they were rather bland, so if you have any ideas on how to "spice" these babies up let me know. All I did was take a premade piecrust & cut it into circles with my biscuit cutter. Then I dolloped a tsp of jelly in the middle ( I didn't want to put more in so it wouldn't ooze out!). I topped the circle with another pastry circle, and then sealed the edges with a fork. I used an egg wash on the top to add sugar sprinkles for texture and looks. They looked nice & yummy...but not so much:/

Muffin Tin Monday- A little Ginger Guy

Today's Muffin tin didn't have much advance thought put in it, so it isn't my best work...However it is Christmas themed, so the kids were excited.

Our first Muffin tin of this Advent was a Gingerbread Guy theme:

In our tins: Some Marcona Almonds (the kids sampled these a Costco and LoVe them!) with a decorative Gingerboy pick, a PBJ Gingerboy Sandwich, Some milk with a pink straw(my kids think a straw makes any drink "fun"), some Gingergirl cheese cutouts, applesauce with red sugar sprinkles (those came out FAST!), and gingerbread boy shaped marshmallows!

Going "Nuts" for this Muffin Tin!

So I am a little bereft to see fall go. In fact I am clinging to it all week, before openly embracing the Christmas season. I love fall, and if you follow my FB you saw the little Acorn plates that I am currently in love with this season:) I used them for my inspiration for this weeks MTM. So here it is, my last fall Muffin tin of the year...

This Acorn themed muffin tin contained (from top left to bottom right):

A Juice Box, Hazelnuts (which my kids thought were great fun to crack!) and little acorn shaped tuna sandwiches. On the bottom are acorn bites (made out of donut holes, sprinkles & pretzel sticks) green grapes (to look like green acorns!) & pretzels sticks/acorn stems;)

A Plump & Perky Turkey for our Muffin Tins!

I have been thinking about our Thanksgiving/Turkey themed muffin tins for a while and I was SO excited when I found these fun "tins" to put them in last week!

They are actually ceramic, but my kids are older so I thought they would be fine. Plus they were only $2.50! So I couldn't say NO;)

We just read the book a "A Plump & Perky Turkey" for our Thanksgiving unit, and it inspired me!


This book is way cute, so we borrowed it's title for our theme this week.

So here is my version of "Pete" (that is the name of the turkey in the book), he is beside some applesauce garnished with a cut apple "leave"

Then I made some cute chocolate acorns (thanks Pintrest!) and filled another cup with

"Cornucopia Trail Mix" (this was simply Bugles & Runts)

I also included a Juice Box and dried cranberries & cherries, but as Gideyon put it "there is nothing fun about the fruit, Mom!" :/
